The Pokemon Community is dead yo, and we survived

Take a look around. What Pokemon fansites do you see that aren't the huge game info sites like Serebii, Pokebeach, etc?

Cave of Dragonflies, A Dragon's Den, Arkeis (kinda), Pokemon Desert Shadow....is that it? This isn't including the really ugly site builder sites. I'm talking about the nice sites that have something to offer instead of broken links.

I think it's official guys. The Pokemon fansite trend is over with. Even with the rise of Gen 5, that didn't help. I doubt Gen 6 will do anymore stuff.

The Pokemon fansites got hit with the originality, no gaming info trend so they were stuck on what to do. Besides theories which get really boring to read because most can't write good ones, Pokemon fansites closed with no hope or moved on to another subject matter.

Unless some new Pokemon idea gets thought of and spreads like the flu, I think the Pokemon fansite trend is finally done and had its day.

It's sad to see it go and there are a few people out there that I would've loved to keep in contact with but with their sites gone and contact info burried, I'll just have to hope they're doing well. And there are some other people who were retarded and I'm curious to see if they actually made something out of their lives.

To whoever reads this, we are all survivors of the Pokemon fansite trend. I don't think anyone saw it begin but whoever reads this saw it end. My run from 2006 - 2012 was a nice run and I believe that in those six years, I learned a lot. It even got me into the career path I was most happy with.

Let's hope someday that all of us on Aqua Beam will return so we all can have a nice long chat again ^^ Or even, let's hope the Pokemon fansite trend can come alive once again!

this specific community died

we all started admining sites when we were a bit younger, and it was fun at the time. i got into the pokesites when i was around 9, when i had nothing to do asides from having fun. and pretty much all of us started a site because of that specific reason; we wanted to have fun.

and whatever you say, no matter how much sites you've seen, you gotta admit that after a while you were just going around in circles. because that's what our community was, a giant circle of similar websites with webmasters interacting with each other.

but now? it's not fun anymore. i have problems to deal with, work that needs to get done. updating my site that no one visits turned into a fucking chore. it's killing me. and i'm probably not the only one who lost interest, you can just look at all the sites you used to visit all the time. dead.

we grew up, and we didn't necessarly grow out of pokémon (i'm still a huge pokémon fan myself), it's more like we now have a life, and problems to take care of. i wish i could go back to fooling around with html and shitty anime graphics with you guys, but i can't. i don't have time for this anymore.

but if you know where to look, there are still some pokémon fansites. made by some other 10-year-olds who want to have fun and have nothing better to do. why don't we see them? because they aren't in our specific circle.

think about it, did random people seriously stumble upon our sites? and i mean, really random people, with completely different interests, that found one of our sites by just browsing around. the answer is no, we didn't get that kind of random people, because we were a tiny community and the internet is huge.

don't get me wrong, i'm really sad that i can't talk to you guys as often as i used to, and i miss exchanging with everyone on here. i'm just saying that maybe right now isn't the time to expect a lively and active community like the one we used to have.

tl;dr there are still some pokesites out there! we just didn't stumble upon any of them. and despite our community being dead, i'm 100% sure the bonds we formed are still there. and i'm 101% sure we can all talk to each other again.

And besides, it's not like fan sites were the entirety of the community. There's a good number of active Pokemon forums. There's one for just about every Pokemon niche imaginable. ^_^

me too TT TT i made really good friends in this community, and it sort of sucks that i can't talk to them as often
