Finally this has its own thread.
Basically, everyone that is interested records their voice, then sends it to me. I configure everything essential, and we can decide on designs later on.
ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS:
What exactly is UTAU?
UTAU is a singing synthesis software similar to VOCALOID. Unlike VOCALOID, though, UTAU is completely free and offers a possibility for the user to insert their own voice into the software (that's what we want to do). For more info, visit the UTAU wiki utau.wikia.com/wiki/UTAU
Whoa there, am I the one singing?
Yes and no. You record the samples of your voice but the program will be used to synthesize the song using your voice, but technically you don't have to sing anything.
What do I use to record the sounds?
You may use any program that can export sound files in WAV or AIFF (preferable WAV though). I reccomand Audacity or OREMO.
What do we need a design for?
UTAU and VOCALOID usually have an "avatar" of some sort, a character that goes with the voice. It's not obligatory but it's fun to design a character and give it a personality.
What will the voices be used for?
The voices may be used in the UTAU program to cover existing songs or to make completely original songs.
Voices and concepts so far:
Hannah - "Rivi", some kind of popstar
Glacier - Crazy bunny girl with lazers
Zoroai - Shuzooooo
Gard -
Jenna - Some kind of Raver
Inky - Choko
If there's anything else you need to know, please ask me! I'll probably be editing the OP post to add information, so you might want to check it often.
